Triple Play Weekend

July 14, 2018 - July 15, 2018

After the success of the last Triple Play weekend in May, Blind Sports NSW is doing it all again!

Saturday, July 14th NSW Goalball will host the Dimitrios Tsoukalidis Memorial Cup and Sydney City Cup at Trinity Grammar Prep School from 9:30am and 12:30pm, followed by Futsal Sydney Vision v Sydney Shades starting at 3:45pm in GAME 2 of the 5 game series after Shades took game 1 scoring a massive 11-6 victory, with Ethan and Oscar starring with strong support from Tyson and Angela with the old Goalkeeper Murray making some saves in the first half when Shades led 6-1.

On Sunday, July 15th it’s game 3 of the Gordon Cooper Variety Youth Blind Cricket NSW Shield celebrating youth blind cricket across NSW. Tyson O’Neil was named player of the game in game 2 but Thunder fell to a strong Sixers bounce back from game 1 where they only scored 19 runs in total. Game 3 will again be hosted by Blacktown Cricket Club and supported by Blacktown City Council at Joe McAleer park in Glendenning off Richmond Road in Sydney’s West.

The Triple Play Weekend gives all of our regional NSW members an opportunity to travel to Sydney for an entire weekend and experience some really great inclusion sport for people with low vision and blindness.

We also really appreciate the sponsors and partners who make these events possible be-ing Variety—the Children’s Charity NSW, Blacktown City Council and Cricket NSW who support with umpires.
