Our comprehensive Guide is designed to help clubs, coaches, school and volunteers welcome and involve people who are blind, or have a vision impairment to join and play sport.

We hope this information helps expand community understanding about creating an accessible, welcoming environment and culture that promotes inclusion and encourages people to take part.

Our BSA Ambassador Raissa Martin, who has a vision impairment and is a member of the Aussie Belles Women’s Goalball team, a Paralympian, Teacher and Coach encourages everyone to take a read;

“BSA has created a comprehensive and accessible Guide, which provides an excellent starting point to help people and organisations fully understand how to create, deliver and support community sport programs. Numerous facets of living with blindness or a vision impairment have been considered to support a holistic understanding of inclusive access to community sport opportunities.”

BSA acknowledges the support of the Commonwealth Department of Health’s Driving Inclusion Program in helping to fund this resource and we also thank British Blind Sport and Vision Australia for their information and guidance, as well as our member organisations for their input, support and imagery.
