Australia name Chef de Mission for 2023 IBSA World Blind Games

Blind Sports Australia is pleased to share some big news about the Australian Team heading to the IBSA World Games 2023 – Watch video announcement!

We have been overwhelmed by the enthusiastic interest and quality of athletes who will be joining the largest ever Australian contingent travelling to the Games in August – this demonstrates the ongoing growth in blind sports participation and opportunities across the country.

Sam Theodore, Chair of Blind Sports Australia comments;
“The BSA Board recognises the importance of these Games for current and future Australian high-performance athletes with a vision impairment, particularly in the lead up to the 2032 Brisbane Paralympics.
To best support the Australian contingent heading to Birmingham, we are excited to announce the appointment of our CEO Matt Clayton as Chef de Mission for these Games. Matt’s dedication, knowledge and passion will provide both leadership and support, helping make these Games a landmark and memorable experience for all Australian team members.”

With just a few months to go, we are calling out to corporates, businesses and individuals to help sponsor and donate funds to enable us to provide Australian team uniforms and resources such as physio support, travel insurance and an Australian team hub at the Games.

Sponsorship support is vitally important to help us support our Australian team – we have a range of sponsorship packages available that offer benefits and recognition for small businesses to corporates.
